- If you could spend one year in perfect happiness but afterward would remember nothing of the experience would you do so? If not, why not?
A year of bliss sounds delightful but if I couldn’t remember it, I don’t think I would do it. If it means living with the false regret that I did not do something in which I actually did, it would be a waste of time and cause unnecessary heartache. If you had degenerative brain function (like in old age), I could understand you taking the opposite stance because if you are going to forget anyway, live it up for a year, however even in that circumstance, you don’t go in with the intention of forgetting what you did during that perfect year; it just happens.
